Innovation in new media and digital outreach for museums has grown exponentially in the last several years. Unfortunately, the museum educators have frequently been left out the conversations about online innovation and digital strategy. The time has come for the leading museum educators around the country to take stock of the state of the field with respect to new media and the distribution of online educational resources, and to create a road map for a digital education strategy. Bringing together museum educators from the nation’s most prominent art museums, this summit would provide a venue for these leaders in the field to discuss the work that they are doing in their museums.
